We welcome you to join our community here at St. Agnes! We are a welcoming, inclusive and diverse Catholic community in the middle of the historic Haight-Ashbury district of San Francisco.
St. Agnes Church was founded in 1893 and was completed in 1953. In 1994, the Archdiocese of San Francisco invited the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) to staff and manage the parish. The Jesuit Ignatian ideal of A Faith That Does Justice is an integral part of our mission at St. Agnes.
Our Parish has a long history of service to the local community. We have a weekly food pantry that provides food to those in need on Thursday afternoons. We support the work of the Archdiocese of San Francisco's Restorative Justice Office. We have a growing Spanish Speaking ministry in our parish, providing weekly Mass in Spanish on Sundays at 1:30 PM and an ESL (English as a Second Language) Program every week in the Spiritual Life Center.
We are committed to serving Jesus Christ and his Gospel through prayerful and engaging Liturgy and music, loving service to those in need, and to ongoing spiritual formation and growth of each member of our community. We hope you will join our dynamic, loving community!
